Collision Response Checklist

1. Check all crew for injuries - attend to crew first.
2. Assess structural damage at point of impact thoroughly.
3. Check bilges immediately and continuously for water ingress.
4. Exchange information with other vessel if involved (name, contact, registration).
5. Take photographs of all damage from multiple angles.
6. Log time, position, weather conditions, and circumstances.
7. If taking on water, engage bilge pumps and follow flooding procedures.
8. Make PAN PAN or MAYDAY call depending on severity of damage.
9. Report collision to maritime authorities and insurance company.
